RuneScape - Fun for ages
For the last 3 years I’ve been playing RuneScape, my nephew Jack enjoyed playing it and I would sit beside him and read out the difficult words that he couldn’t read, then I decided to open my own account and surprise jack, so when he went home I knew he would go on RuneScape so I logged on too, He was very surprised that his 37 year old auntie was on his favourite game, and that was it, I was hooked, so now I’ll explain about the game.
RuneScape is a very popular (MORPG) live online role playing game, the idea of the game is to gain experience in different skills, such as cooking, mining, strength etc, the more experience you gain you will advance a level, so for example using the ores that you get from the rocks you can smelt them into bars and smith the bars into useful items. For a beginner, these two skills can be useful because from a low level you can make useful items to help you in battle. For a novice it will be wise to make some armour to protect yourself against attacks when building up your combat.
I use KeyStrokes on-screen keyboard and a HeadMouse head pointer to operate the game, the keyboard is only used for chatting to other players and the movement of the character is all done by the cursor, you click on the mini map where you want the character to go and the character will walk to the area, when playing I use the predictive text because I talk a lot and I enjoy helping beginners so it’s easier and quicker for me, but its fine to play without using it, depending on the individual you can use the keybord as much or as little as you like, its the sort of game that doesn’t require speed movements, there is lots to do at your own speed, play at what ever speed suits you, your results would be the same as the next players, typing slowly would not be disadvantage, the game runs on a web page with java, I prefer to reduce the size of the page and place my keyboard at the bottom of the screen, that way my keyboard doesn’t sit over my game, your essential programs are still accessible such as email and my favourite bluephone elite.
We all help each other by trading items or by helping others with quests, I like to meet up with friends around world and together we all train a certain skill and chat and have fun at the same time, but if you prefer to play alone and not to chat that’s easy to do also.
I have a friend who plays using a trackball, he has no trouble playing (I introduced him to RuneScape and he’s also been playing for 3 years).
If you like using an instant messenger to chat, as I do well this game takes over all them messengers haha you will find yourself logging onto RuneScape to chat to your friends and to play too.
There are many older players, a few of my RuneScape friends are 50+, so if you are older don’t be shy come and have a try haha . If you enjoy spending time on the computer and enjoy chatting online and don’t like the shoot me up games, well this is the game for you.
If you are interested don’t hesitate to contact and I’ll help you.

You can play RuneScape on a Mac OS X or Windows computer.
